Exploring ideas
Are you interested in exploring creative writing for well-being purposes? Do you know where to start?
So how did this change of direction for my Substack come about?
I attended a well-being day at a local centre where I spoke about using writing for personal well-being. After my sessions there was talk about me running some writing for well-being workshops at this centre. I duly submitted a selection of my promo material to be shared on Facebook and waited.
During the waiting period I developed a cough – which for me is a sign that something isn't right with life. So I started journaling around my cough.
For whatever reasons, which did not materialise in my journaling, at the moment I do not feel it is right for me to running well-being workshops in person but I do feel I need to be using my Substack platform for this purpose; with regular postings which I which I will charge as I do for my regular in-person writing groups I run on 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month in Abergele, Conwy.
First do not be afraid.
Writing for well-being is not about writing good work, not about spelling well, not about good punctuation. It is about you tapping into your alpha waves and see where that takes you.
On the first Monday of each month, starting in May, I will post a piece with a series of prompts for paid subscribers to explore with an opportunity to chat about what comes from the prompt is required. On the last Monday of each month I will post to everyone something of my journey through this.
Let's just pretend this is the last Monday in March even though it is the first week of April :)
So as I've said above I will be doing regular posts online [1st Monday of each month for paid subscribers, last Monday of the month for everyone] with the potential for in-person or Zoom workshops as things progress.
