Finding That Place
when you stop searching
Another great prompt from Stories From The Jukebox. This week it is There’s A Place by the Beatles. Short, sweet and deep. A thank you to Theresa Green not just for the prompt but for what she wrote which gave me the courage to write what I have.

There’s a place
Once I tried to find that place where I could go, where I was seen for who I was. A place where I was not afraid. Yet it remain elusive to me. I took a room and made it mine, filled it with special things, shells and rocks, paintings by those I liked and cared for. Yet still it was not quite the place. I walked on beaches early in the morning, exploring places on my own, wrote poems in and from those space. Yet still it remained not that place. One day I chose to stop my searching, chose to relax and just be, sat in my pale green armchair and rested. I felt the place envelope me. That was where God came and held me, told me they loved me totally, took my sadness, sorrow and need for belonging. I had found the place where I can fully dwell. My place is not about who knows and sees me or about what I've done or where I've been. It's not about about what tribe or clique I fit with. It is that place where I can never alone.
