[True-ish]
Attic – 100mg
Full of treasures waiting to be re-explored.
A box marked “memories” filled with childish drawings, a first shoe, a purple ribbon – I wonder where that was from? A box of well-loved ponies. A farm set of animals with varying proportions. A box of moth-nibbled clothes that were once so important. Another filled with filled journals and notebooks never read again. Two boxes with each grown up child's name and private in large capitals.
What should we do with it all?
Close the trap.
Descend the ladder.
It can wait for another day. It's not like we're moving anywhere soon.
Teardrop – 60mg
Emma looked at the girl seated across the aisle from her.
“Excuse me, but where did you get those teardrop earrings from?”
“Oh goodness they're the same as yours,” the girl squealed. “My boyfriend got them for me. Where did you get yours?”
“Same,” said Emma. “Boyfriend.”
Astronaut 80mg
“Mum!” her gangly teenager shouted as he blundered through the door his limbs still getting used to their increase in length, his body still getting used to its shape. “Mum! Mr Cash said I'm going to be an astronaut. And Rory agrees.”
“Mr Cash? Your science teacher? That's brilliant. Tell me more.”
“They both said with scores like that I was definitely a space cadet. Isn't that awesome, Mum?”
She reached over and gave him a hug.
Sunrise over my local beach from Dec 2020. I walked all the way to the junction to find the pathway closed then turned around and this greeted me!!!
Sky – 100mg
I woke this morning to a sailor's warning sky.
I prepared to weather the storm it foretold.
If I'd looked the other way I would have missed it.
Throughout the day the sky chopped and changed its hues
I did my best to roll with each different vista that I saw
I rode the storms, enjoyed the sunbeams, and made it through my day.
This evening as the sky turned reds and oranges
Before it dipped to magentas and indigos
I decided I would take the shepherd's delight
because I had made it to the end of another day.
This is a photo of my oldest friend and her son. We’ve known each other about 40 years now. Only speak occasionally but this flash is very true about our relationship.
Old Friends – 100mg
The blessing of old friends is when you phone they are ready because they knew you were going to call, and had made the time to spare.
Old friends know you deeper than you spouse or parents every will and do not judge you because of it.
With old friends you can start in the middle of a conversation and finish in the middle too because you both know you'll both be back.
Old friends are like that comfortable old overcoat hung on the back door waiting till you need them then will protect you, keep you warm and safe.

Another wonderful crop of stories Teardrop certainly had a surprise ending! Astronaut was sweet, funny, and sad all at once - I used to be called "Space Cadet," too.
